Apogee, a three year old filly by Malibu Moon out of Castleton Lyons mare, My Limit, scored impressively on her career debut at Tampa Bay yesterday. Sent out by the red-hot Clement barn for Waterville Lake Stable, the dark bay filly minded her time then shot through a hole midstretch under strong urging from Sammy Camacho to win by 1 1/2 lengths going 8 1/2 furlongs on the turf. Purchased at the Keeneland September yearling sale for $240,000, she is a half-sister to G1SW Birdatthewire.
