Castleton Lyons owned and bred Tarrip, a 4-year-old filly by Green Desert out of Spinnette won an allowance at Keeneland today over 9 furlongs on the main track. With Garret Gomez in the irons, the Christophe Clement trained Tarrip was reserved early and steadily made ground to take the lead close home and win snugly by 3/4 length over Patti’s Regal Song. Gomez reported after the race that he was always travelling comfortably and when he asked the filly for her effort in the stretch the response was smooth and professional. Spinnette, a half sister to multiple graded stakes winner Naissance Royale, is currently in foal to Castleton Lyons stallion Bernstein and due later this month.
