The Paulick Report is pleased to bring back a new photo/video feature that will run every other week and will spotlight stallions standing in Kentucky.

The series, put together by our friends at EquiSport Photos, will feature stallions have either just entered stud in 2016, or stallions that have not yet had their first crop reach the racetrack.

This week's spotlight stallion is Justin Phillip, an 8-year-old son of First Samurai that stands at Castleton Lyons. Justin Phillip's first crop are yearlings of 2016.

Justin Phillip began his career at Saratoga, finishing second in his career debut. He broke his maiden in his next start, a six-furlong maiden special weight contest at Belmont Park. He went on to make two more starts that season, finishing third both times.

Justin Phillip became a graded stakes winner the following year, winning the G2 Woody Stephens Stakes at Belmont. In addition, he notched third-place finishes in the G1 King's Bishop, G2 Jerome, and G3 Bay Shore.

Justin Phillip continued to race as both a four and five-year-old, and developed into one of the top sprinters in the country. During that time he captured the G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (at age 5) and G3 Count Fleet Handicap, and placed in the G1 Vosburgh, G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt (at age 4), and G2 True North Handicap (twice).

Justin Phillip entered stud in 2014 at Castleton Lyons. His first crop are yearlings.

We hope you enjoy our new feature, and we would once again like to thank our friends at EquiSport Photos for the great video.
