Drefong broke on top from the widest draw and rolled home an easy 3 1/4 length winner of the G1 King's Bishop at Saratoga this afternoon. The son of Gio Ponti was making his debut in stakes company and made it look easy for owner Charles Chu, trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Mike Smith. Never threatened over the seven furlong trip, the colt has now won his last four races by an aggregate total of 21 1/2 lengths. Post race Bob Baffert said "The horse has always been incredibly fast" and will target the colt to the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita in the fall. Mike Smith mentioned that "I just rode him with my hands, with my whip down. He ran big today".
